GPs (physicians) can help people quit smoking by encouraging them to join coaching program

I came across an article posted on NHS.UK, 'How GPs can help people quit smoking,' and interesting to know that medical doctors encourage their patients to have a friend or a relative to help them out in quitting. Quoted from the article:

"I encourage people to try to quit with a friend or relative, and also point out the financial benefits of quitting, which can add up to thousands of pounds a year."

I believe that doctors should also mention coaches, therapist, counselors, and communities to patients who need help to recover -- from smoking, or on things that cause stress (which leads to bad health) on them. Because as mentioned also in the article, prescription drugs may have negative side effects on some people.

"Occasionally, I will prescribe bupropion (Zyban), a drug that reduces the craving for nicotine. This isn't for everyone as it can cause epileptic fits in people prone to them and can affect liver and blood pressure, so needs close monitoring. Some people do very well with the medication, so it's worth considering."

As always, the natural organic way is the best way to heal. And, what can be more organic than human relationship as the medicine to cure 'smoking addiction.'
